Cognitika is a newly established non-profit organisation, founded by a professional with commercial experience in game development, UX, and digital product design.
While Cognitika itself is young, our team brings years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and testing games and interactive products. We created Cognitika to bring that expertise to education, working with subject matter experts to build games that teach.
Founder / Lead game designer
As Cognitika's founder, Ilija has spent nearly five years designing commercial mobile games, working on six projects and leading two from concept to launch. He runs teams of designers, developers, artists, and testers, working closely across gameplay, systems design, and playtesting. By prioritising the player experience, Ilija applies his industry expertise to creating immersive, playful learning tools for education.
Software engineer
Aleksa is a software engineer with nearly six years of experience building immersive learning applications and XR environments. An expert in Unity3D and C#, he develops gameplay systems, automation tools, and interactive platforms for VR headsets. With a strong background in mobile games and student mentorship, Aleksa brings technical excellence to creating seamless, interactive educational experiences.

Stevan is a senior software engineer with six years of experience specialising in cloud-native development, microservices, and distributed systems. An expert in Node.js and TypeScript, he builds robust, scalable backend foundations. A former university teaching associate and dedicated mentor, Stevan combines technical leadership with a passion for education, ensuring what we build runs flawlessly.
People operations manager
Slavica brings seven years of expertise in youth support and social protection to her people operations role. Holding an MA in social policy, she has extensive experience as a case manager and university teaching assistant. Her background in evidence-based interventions, child protection, and data analysis ensures Cognitika maintains a supportive, impact-driven environment focused on learner well-being.
